Cougars hope to bounce back at South State

After losing its final three games of the regular season last week, and each in heartbreaking fashion, it could be easy to draw the conclusion that Franklin Academy was heading the wrong direction as it paced toward postseason play.

FA coach Paul Work said despite the Cougars coming up short in their two contests against Glenbrook and the nail-biter against Cenla Christian to finish the season, his feels his squad is eager to get back on the court after taking the two MAIS powers to the brink.

The Cougars (20-7, 6-6 in MAIS District 7-A) will get their chance to get back on the hardwood tonight in Rayville, as FA plays a familiar opponent in Tallulah Academy in the first-round of the MAIS South State A (Districts 6&7) Tournament being hosted at Riverfield Academy. Tip-off is set from 6:30 p.m.

"We finished the season with three losses, but we've been playing good basketball over the last couple of weeks," Work said. "We're really familiar with our first round opponent (Tallulah) and that helps."
