Parish second in corn acreage

With most of the cotton ginned, and the winter wheat planted, data released by the USDA last week shows that corn continues to be the dominant crop in Franklin Parish.

With over 74,000 acres of corn in the parish this year, Franklin placed only second to Morehouse Parish in state corn acreage.
