Winnsboro man charged with attempted murder

A Winnsboro man faces a cluster of criminal charges resulting from an incident last Friday in which he had to be subdued with less-lethal force by authorities, according to a report.

Reports state Roy D. Campbell, 30, 863 Dummy Line Road, led Franklin Parish Sheriff deputies on a brief car chase that ended with deputies using rubber bullets to apprehend the suspect. It was discovered afterward that Campbell had an assortment of firearms and a multiple-round ammunition belt in his vehicle.
