WATER DEPT.: Mike McDuffee turned in a written report on the water system, informing council of the average water pumped during the month of August. The report also stated that there were problems with the chemical pump and it is presently being repaired. FIRE DEPT.: Doug Denmon reported that he has been busy fighting fires and after the storm clean-up. Mayor Luckett informed council that the small generator for the fire department was missing from one of the trucks. OLD BUSINESS: None NEW BUSINESS: A Resolution to adopt the millage rate of 6.790 for the tax year 2012 was read in full by Marc McCarty. Town Clerk took roll call on the adoption and votes were as follows: Yeas: Nettie B. Brown, Marc McCarty, Roger Hilliard, Thomas Lemle, and Thomas Moore. Nays: 0 Abstained: 0 Absent: 0 A Resolution to apply to LGAP (Local Government Assistance Program) for the FY 2012-2013 was read by Nettie B. Brown requesting a backhoe. Mayor Luckett presented council with a letter from the Internal Revenue Service approving the request to pay taxes that are due in monthly installments, until other plans to pay in full can be established. Mayor Luckett informed council that Cainan James is no longer employed with the town as a maintenance worker. After a lengthy discussion, it was decided that the personnel committee would look at applications that have been submitted. Marc McCarty made a motion to go into executive session. The job performance of the clerk was discussed concerning duties that were not done in a timely and efficient manner. A letter of reprimand would be placed in the personnel file. Bro. Peoples read a letter of appreciation to Fire Chief Doug Denmon, the Volunteer Fire Fighters, Chief Cureington, and Wisner Police Department for a job well don on the recent fire.
