Present for the meeting were Mrs. Louise Johnson, Mrs. Dorothy Brown, Mr. Eddie Ray Bryan, and Mr. Ronnie Hatton. Mr. Tim Eubanks, Mr. Richard Kelly and Jesse Young were absent from the meeting. President Eddie Ray Bryan called the meeting to order, Mrs. Dorothy Brown led in prayer and President Bryan led in the Pledge of Allegiance. Finance committee was called to order by Mrs. Dorothy Brown. Mrs. Thoy Leonard ask the Board to extend our current contract with Nexus for three years. This extension will be at the same cost. Mrs. Whitten reported to the Board the increase in retirement for teachers and school employees for the next fiscal year. She also gave the Board a draft of a budget revision for their review. Mrs. Whitten has received the MFP for next year and a lot of Charter Schools are listed. Mrs. Trimble will be at the next agenda meeting. Finance committee was adjourned. Maintenance committee was called to order by Mrs. Louise Johnson. Dr. Johnson reported that nothing major is going on in the maintenance department. There was water leak here at the Central Office. Mrs. Johnson adjourned the maintenance committee. Mr. James Hendricks from the Agriculture Extension Office spoke to the Board. Mr. Hendricks said that the School Board’s MOU with the LSU Agriculture Extension Office will be coming up for renewal the end of June. Mr. Hendricks is asking for additional funds for his office. The Board is currently paying $387.00 per month. Mr. Hendricks is asking the Board for $774.00 per month. Ms. Laura Bradley gave handouts to the Board. Dr. Johnson said the Board will take this under consideration.
