JAMES MCLEMORE: James McLemore addressed the issue of parking from events held at the community center. Mr. McLemore owns the Super 10 building and their customers are not able to park in front of the store when the community center has a function during their business hours. Gill and McCarthy volunteered to be on a committee to research this problem and determine how to encourage people to park in the new community center parking lot. RESOLUTION NO. 11-0903: WHEREAS, the City of Winnsboro has applied for a grant with the Federal Aviation Administration on a project for the Winnsboro Municipal Airport; and WHEREAS the Federal Aviation Administration has offered a grant consisting of the following: Rehabilitate Runway 18/36; Rehabilitate Taxiway NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor is hereby authorized, on behalf of the City, to publicly advertise for bids on the Winnsboro Municipal Airport Runway and Taxiway Rehabilitation Project. RECOGNITION OF VISITORS: Leo Hutto appeared asking the Police Department to enforce the stop signs in his neighborhood. Ms. Whitlock asked the Mayor and Board for assistance with the erosion of land on her property. MAYOR’S AWARD OF EXCELLENCE: Chris Shaw, Officer for the City of Winnsboro Police Department, received the Mayor’s Award of Excellence. HUMANE OFFICER REPORT: Russell Grant gave a monthly activity report for the Animal Control Department. Motion by McCarthy, second by Johnson and unanimously approved to accept the report. FIRE CHIEF MONTHLY REPORT: Chief Truman Welch gave a monthly activity report for the City of Winnsboro Fire Department. Motion by Gill, second by Dumas and unanimously approved to accept the report. POLICE CHIEF MONTHLY REPORT: Chief Lester Thomas gave a monthly activity report for the City of Winnsboro Police Department. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT REPORT: Earl Davis gave a monthly activity report on economic development for the City of Winnsboro.
