Notice is hereby given that the Board of Aldermen of the City of Winnsboro, Louisiana will consider the adoption of an ordinance bearing the title:
AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE MONTHLY PAY
OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN FOR THE CITY OF WINNSBORO TO $300.00 EFFECTIVE WITH THE
TERM BEGINNING JULY 1, 2010.
and that a public hearing will be held on May 17, 2010 at 6:00 PM at the Winnsboro City Court, 1308 Cornell Street, Winnsboro, Louisiana, to consider the adoption of said ordinance.

CITY OF WINNSBORO
ORDINANCE NO. 936
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY OF WINNSBORO ORDINANCE NO. 920 CHANGING THE MONTHLY ASSESSMENT OR TAX OWED THE CITY OF WINNSBORO TO 1 1/2% OF THE “COIN IN” FOR EACH ELECTRONIC VIDEO BINGO MACHINE.
BE IT RESOLVED, that Ordinance No. 920, Chapter 24, Sec. 1., Paragraph (L) Net Proceeds is hereby amended to read as follows:
(L) Net Proceeds. For purposes of this ordinance, the term “coin in” shall mean total coins for funds paid in by customers. The amount of 1 1/2% of the “coin in” for each electronic video bingo machine shall be paid per month as an assessment or tax owed the City, effective January 1, 2010. The tax or assessment owed to the City from the “coin in” shall be owed and become due on the first day of the month that follows the previous month of operations. Taxes or assessments that are not paid to the City by the fifth day of the month in which they become due shall incur a penalty of 2% per month until paid
After a public hearing was held on the above ordinance, the title having been read and the ordinance considered, a motion was made by McCarthy, second by Johnson and unanimously approved to adopt Ordinance No. 936, a recorded vote was taken and the following result was had:

Whereupon the presiding officer declared the above ordinance duly adopted on April 19, 2010.

George Edward Higgins, 58, 8314 La. Highway 17, Winnsboro, is a convicted sex offender.
He was convicted in 1989 of Molestation of a Juvenile and Sexual Battery.
In accordance with Louisiana Law, under the Community Notification Act, the Franklin Parish Sheriff's Office is required to notify the public that Higgins resides in Franklin Parish.
This information is made available for the purpose of protecting the public. Anyone who used this information to commit a criminal act against another person is subject to criminal prosecution.
