PUBLIC NOTICE
LCDBG PERFORMANCE AND FAIR HOUSING
INFORMATIONAL HEARINGS
The Village of Gilbert will conduct two public hearings on the 28th day of August, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Village Hall, 7564 Gilbert Street, Gilbert, Louisiana.
The purpose of the first hearing is to receive comments on the Village’s performance on its FY 2008 Louisiana Community Development Block Grant Program for sewer system improvements, LCDBG Contract No. 671993. The Village will submit close-out documents on this LCDBG Program to the Louisiana Division of Administration. This LCDBG program’s objective is the principal benefit to low-to-moderate income persons, and the LCDBG Grant amount was $414,496.00.
The second public hearing, a Fair Housing Informational Hearing, will be conducted immediately following the close-out hearing. The purpose of this public hearing is to discuss the Fair Housing Act and to answer any questions concerning this act.
All residents, particularly low to moderate income persons of the Village are invited to attend. Those residents unable to attend this public hearing may submit their written comments to the Village of Gilbert, P. O. Box 600, Gilbert, LA 71336-0600, prior to the public hearing date.
Accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities and an interpreter will be provided for non-English speaking individuals, provided that the Village receives a three (3) day notice prior to the public hearing date.

Minutes of meeting dated Friday, August 7, 2009, 7:30 a.m., at Crowville Fire Station.
Board members present: Kelly Clark, Dewayne Hendry, Don Middleton, Colby Peppers.
Guest present: Daniel D. Fuller.
Business before the Board:
1. The financial statement was read, discussed, and approved without change.
2. Don Middleton discussed fee collection reminding the Board that we are about $3000.00 short of expected income for the year.
3. Daniel Fuller, fireman candidate, was introduced to the Board by Dewayne Hendry.
4. Don Middleton proposed that the Board approve a District ride through by Roy McDuffie and John Shelton for the purpose of ascertaining proper parcel fee addresses. Colby Peppers seconded motion. Approved with no descent.
5. Kelly Clark recommended that the District purchase 2 more Vortech radios for firemen in the District. Dewayne Hendry made the motion, seconded by Colby Peppers. Motion passed with no descent.
6. Kelly Clark also recommended that the District purchase a battery charger for the brush fire truck. The Board approved this purchase with no descent.
7. A practice-run water shuttle is to be scheduled in the near future after most of the crop harvest is completed.
8. The Board continues to be interested in acquiring a tanker trailer for water hauling.
