Present for the meeting were Mr. Tim Eubanks, Mrs. Dorothy Brown, Mr. Eddie Ray Bryan, Mr. Ronnie Hatton, and Mr. Jesse Young.

Mrs. Ginger Boutwell gave an update on the projects and activities of the Agriculture Extension Office.
RECOGNITION OF FPHS POWER LIFTERS
Coach Barry Sebren recognized two of his power lifters for placing 1st in the state in their division. Al’Derrius McCarthy, 9th grade placed 1st in 165 lb. class division and Stanley Lee, 9th grade placed 1st in the 181 lb. class division. Coach Sebren also recognized the Joseph Purvis, coach of the power lifting team. Both young men are exceptional student athletes.
PAM MCBROOM, HEAD START REPORT
Mrs. Pam McBroom gave an update of the activities and projects of the Head Start Program. Financial statement and quarterly reports were given to Board Members.

BE IT ORDAINED, ETC., that the Franklin Parish School Board consider entering into an Cooperative Endeavor with the Franklin Parish Sheriffís Office for the land lease on Section 16,
Township 14 North, Range 8 East containing 69.8 acres more or less. This land lease was vacated by Lloyd Posey.

SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT
Superintendent Lanny Johnson reported on the progress of HGWLC after the fire. We are trying to get students back to school as soon as possible. There are approximately 147 students that attend HGWLC. Partitions are being built in the gym to make 10 classrooms. Cafeteria can be used. Gas and water to the building has been a problem. Bo Davis has done all the electrical for the school. Ouachita Parish has sent up teacher desks, teacher chairs, student desk and partitions. We are going to pay for the student desk but not very much. We are trying to get the students back in school Thursday. Some of the students were tested this morning. ILEAP test will be given after the holidays. An insurance adjuster has visited the site. We will get so much per square foot plus architect fees. We will have to look at the money and decide how to go back with the building. Our people have worked very hard.
PRESIDENT’S REPORT
President Eddie Ray Bryan reported on the fire at HGW Learning Center. He was out there the night of the fire. The fire was intense. Fire fighters from all over the parish and Richland Parish responded. The fire fighters did a very good of keeping it contained. President Bryan said the juveniles that did this went in to burn building. President Bryan mentioned the 25 years of experience at age 55 retirement.

The Franklin Parish School Board met for its regular scheduled agenda meeting on Monday, April 27, 2009 at 5:30 p.m. in the Franklin Parish School Board Complex conference room.
Present for the meeting were Mrs. Louise Johnson, Mrs. Dorothy Brown Mr. Eddie Ray Bryan, Mr. Ronnie Hatton, Mr. Jesse Young and Mr. Richard Kelly.

President Eddie Ray Bryan called the meeting to order, Mrs. Louise Johnson led in prayer and President Bryan led in the Pledge of Allegiance.
