PUBLIC NOTICE
Northeast Louisiana Workforce Centers, Inc. has been awarded a $2,000,000 Community Based Job Training Grant for advanced manufacturing. This grant is federally funded through the United States Department of Labor. Through this grant project, Building a Louisiana Delta Workforce, Northeast Louisiana Workforce Centers will focus on building an educational and skills training capacity of the Louisiana Delta Community College and will serve 250 students over the next three years, providing students with tuition-free, industry-defined, advanced manufacturing training. The project will be made available to citizens in the twelve parishes of Caldwell, East Carroll, Franklin, Jackson, Madison, Richland, Tensas, West Carroll, Ouachita, Morehouse, Union and Lincoln.

VILLAGE OF GILBERT
RESOLUTION
BE IT RESOLVED, By the Mayor and Board of Alderman of the Village of Gilbert, convened in regular session on this 9th day of April, 2009, the policy regarding all baseball fields in the Village of Gilbert. This resolution hereby states the South Franklin Dixie Youth has Village of Gilbert permission to use the field at anytime, with the understanding by the president (President at present date) to maintain the field with normal maintenance and the responsibility for the electricity, concession stand, bleachers, batting cage, etc., and any additions made to the baseball field. The Village of Gilbert will maintain the grass cutting outside the fence. The policy for outside parties wanting to use the field must be approved by the South Franklin Dixie Youth along with the Board of Alderman and Mayor of the Village of Gilbert.
The Village of Gilbert reserves the right to refuse the use of this field to any and all parties and waves any information.
The above resolution was motioned by Louis Ezell, and seconded by Leo Miller.

TOWN OF WISNER
REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
MARCH 12, 2009
The Town Council of Wisner met in regular session on Thursday, March 12, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. at the Wisner Town Hall.
Present: Mayor Allyn Jean Luckett, Nettie B. Brown, Thomas Lemle, and Marc McCarty.
Absent: Thomas Moore and Bobby Blount.
There being a quorum Mayor Luckett called the meeting proceedings to order.
The invocation was led by Marc McCarty.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Teddy Howington.
Motion by Marc McCarty to approve the minutes from previous meeting. Nettie B. Brown seconded. Minutes approved.
The financial reports and expenditures were provided for the month of February. Marc McCarty made a motion to approve the financial reports and pay all bills. Permission was granted to pay all bills.
NEW BUSINESS:
DEPARTMENT REPORTS:
POLICE DEPT.
Chief Cureington informed council that David Wallace turned in his equipment and is no longer employed by the police department.
FIRE DEPT.
Teddy Howington, Asst. Fire chief reported that monthly meeting were being held.
OLD BUSINESS:
Mayor Luckett gave council an update on the water system and community center projects.
FURTHER BUSINESS:
Thomas Lemle announced that the annual clean-up will be held from April 13-May 15, 2009. All resident are encouraged to participate.
With no further business Thomas Lemle made a motion to adjourn. Seconded by Marc McCarty.

The Franklin Parish School Board is now accepting sealed bids for the sale of land and buildings of the old Ogden School Facility, 2212 La. Hwy. 135, Winnsboro, Louisiana 71295 containing 6.25 acres more or less. This property lies on the west side of Hwy. 135. The bid must be at least the amount of appraisal, $50,000. For inspection of this land and buildings, please contact Benton Moore at the Franklin Parish School Board at 318.435.9046.
The bids must be sealed and clearly marked “Sealed Bid for land and buildings of the old Ogden School Facility.” All bids must be received at the Franklin Parish School Board office, 7293 Prairie Road, Winnsboro, LA 71295 no later than 12:00 noon on April 29, 2009. Bids will be opened on April 29, 2009 at 1:00 p.m.
The Franklin Parish School Board reserves the right to accept or reject any and/or all bids.
