Hemphill at 318-439-0122. 7/2 1tb mmm VILLAGE OF GILBERT Regular Meeting June 12, 2008 The Village of Gilbert Mayor and Board of Alderman met in regular session on Thursday, June 12, 2008 at 6:30 p.m., at the Gilbert City Hall. Those present were as follows: Mayor Mike Stephens, Diane Parker, Clerk; Assistant Clerk Joann Evans, Alderman Kay Dunaway, Leo Miller and Louis Ezell. Also present were Brian Goodman, Chief Ty Britt and citizens. CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Mike Stephens called the meeting to order. Leo Miller led in opening prayer. Diane Parker led in the pledge of allegiance. AMEND AGENDA: Motion made by Louis Ezell, seconded by Leo Miller to amend agenda to allow Mr. Bill Mulkey to speak on behalf of Risk Management and grant for emergency and storm up date to town hall. Motion carried. MINUTES: Motion made by Louis Ezell, seconded by Kay Dunaway, to accept the minutes as presented. Motion carried. FINANCIAL DOCUMENTS: Motion made by Louis Ezell, seconded by Kay Dunaway to accept the financial documents as presented. Motion carried. NEW BUSINESS: OPEN SEALED BIDS FOR TOWN TRUCK: Sealed bids were opened by clerk. Motion made by Louis Ezell, seconded by Leo Miller to accept the highest bid of $720.00 from Mr. Pete Barlow. DISCUSS MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH FEMA: Motion made by Louis Ezell, seconded by Kay Dunaway to adopt resolution on the agreement with Federal Emergency Management Agency. Motion carried. DISCUSS LMA MEETING IN JULY: Discussion was held on who would be attending. DISCUSS INTRODUCE ORD. #304 BODY ART, ETC. Discussion was held introducing an ordinance on body art, tattoo, and etc. A public hearing was held introducing an ordinance on body art, tattoo, and etc. A public hearing will be held July 10, at Gilbert City Hall at 6:30 p.m. to consider adopting this ordinance. DISCUSS: MOBILE HOMES: Discussion was held. DISCUSS CPA & AUDITOR: Discussion was held. DISCUSS EMPLOYEE COST OF LIVING: Motion by Louis Ezell, seconded by Leo Miller to give the fire department, police department a cost of living raise, to begin July 1, 2008. Motion carried. DISCUSS ANY OTHER BUSINESS: Discussion was held on paying Risk Management. Motion made by Kay Dunaway, seconded by Louis Ezell, to pay Risk Management on monthly installments till paid in full. Bruce Lofton asked to check into prices for a utility trailer. Brian Goodman asked for a refrigerator to be put in the fire department. ADJOURNMENT: Louis Ezell made a motion to adjourn. BE IT ORDAINED, by the Board of Aldermen of the Village of Gilbert, Louisiana, in regular session convened on June 12th, 2008, to adopt the following: SECTION 1: Attached estimate of revenue as reflected in the consolidated statement, and such other fiscal exhibits and information as required by Section 1308 (D), Louisiana Local Government Budget Act, be and the same is hereby adopted to serve as the adopted budget of expenditures for the Village of Gilbert for the fiscal year July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2009, to wit: General Fund Revenue: $261,350.00, Enterprise Fund Revenue: $133,450.00; Sales Tax Fund Revenue: $40,150.
