Public Notices Published Tuesday, May 6th, 2008NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION Pursuant to the provisions of a resolution adopted by the Parish School Board of the Parish of Franklin, State of Louisiana (the “Governing Authority”), acting as the governing authority of the Parish of Franklin, State of Louisiana (the “Parish”), on April 7, 2008, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a special election will be held within the Parish on SATURDAY, JULY 19, 2008, and that at the said election there will be submitted to all registered voters in the Parish qualified and entitled to vote at the said election under the Constitution and Laws of the State of Louisiana and the Constitution of the United States, the following proposition, to-wit: PROPOSITION (MILLAGE CONTINUATION) SUMMARY: 10 YEAR, 4.45 MILLS PROPERTY TAX CONTINUATION FOR GIVING ADDITIONAL AID AND SUPPORT TO THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS OF THE DISTRICT. Shall Franklin Parish School District of the Parish of Franklin, State of Louisiana (the “District”), levy a special tax of four and forty-five hundredths (4.45) mills on all property subject to taxation in the District for a period of ten (10) years, beginning with the year 2009 and ending with the year 2018 (an estimated $239,940 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the tax for an entire year) for the purpose of giving additional aid and support to the public schools of the District?
