Cougars pass early tests In the last two weeks the Franklin Academy Cougars have proved their strongest qualities on the hardwood this season could be the team's parody throughout the roster, and the strong-will of the players that make it up.
In their ninth game in 12 days, The Cougars coasted past Prairie View Academy, 54-40, in the finals of the PVA Tournament in Bastrop on Saturday.
Franklin Academy (13-2) has won eight of its last nine contests.
"The guys were tired from all the games in that small of a window of time, but they kept their focus and really dug deep," Franklin Academy coach Paul Work said after the win on Saturday. "It was a good win for us"
Senior Britt Grieme led the Cougars with 15 points and Curt McGuffee added 10. Mason Fenn posted 9 points to go along with his 12 rebounds. Kalin Howington and Braxton Crawford both netted 8 points each.
"It wasn't our best night, but the guys continued to play solid defense and we rebounded well," Work added. "Every player that dressed played and contributed to the win."
