Patriots start strong

Franklin Parish won three of its four games on the hardwood last week, giving the young Patriot squad a jolt of confidence after its first five games.

The Patriots (3-2) bested Vidalia, 72-56, in their home-opener last Tuesday before taking two of its three games at the Tensas Tournament over the weekend.

Franklin Parish assistant head coach Wystee Kerry said he's pleased with what he's seen from his team to this point, a squad composed of mainly underclassmen.

"Our young backcourt really did the job for us in all those games last week," Kerry said. "We keep limiting the turnovers and we'll continue to get better. So far, they are playing well together."
