Crews demolish flood-prone properties

As numerous residential demolition activities take place across the parish, Franklin Parish OSEPH director Mitch Reynolds said the mitigation project his office applied for four years ago is entering the home stretch.

Local demolition crews are currently destroying 12 properties that have been deemed as "repetitive severe losses," as part of a risk management project that became available after the massive flooding damage Franklin Parish suffered from Hurricane Gustav in 2008.
