School board honors students

Forty students were recognized for Advanced scores on Leap and GEE standardized test administered last spring at the monthly meeting of the Franklin Parish School Board.

Curriculum director DeLayne Donnell introduced each student and board president Eddie Ray Bryan presented each with a plaque. Students who receive four Advanced scores on all portions of the Leap exam are also awarded $200 cash by DeLayne Donnell.

The first Franklin Parish eighth-grader to receive four Advanced scores in ELA, mathematics, science and social studies portions of the LEAP exam is Shelby Tibbit.
