Dragons not overlooking Plain Dealing After easily pushing aside Menard in non-district play to finish the regular season last Friday, No. 4 Mangham now turns its attention to what coach Tommy Tharp called a very formidable opponent that will demand a solid performance out of the Dragons.
Mangham (9-1, 3-1 in 3-1A) will host No. 29 Plain Dealing on Friday in the opening round of the Class 1A playoffs after trouncing Class 2A top-15 team Menard, 47-13, last week.
Although this will only be the Lions third trip to the playoffs in school history, Tharp said his squad can't lose focus against a Plain Dealing team that is on the rise. "They are very athletic," said Tharp. "You have to give coach (Coy) Brotherton credit because he's turned it around over there in two seasons. Looking at them on film........
