Tiger Tour makes NELA stop Over 400 LSU fans showed up at the Monroe Civic Center last week as the annual Tiger Tour made its stop in Northeast Louisiana.
The event, which was sponsored by the Ouachita Chapter of the LSU Alumni Association and Tiger Athletic Foundation, was missing its main attraction however.
Tiger football coach Les Miles, who spoke in Bossier City the previous night, had to cancel his appearance last minute to travel back to Baton Rouge and deal with a team personnel matter, according to LSU officials.
Filling in for Miles was offensive coordinator Greg Studrawa and quarterback coach Steve Kragthorpe to cover the pigskin department. Newly-hired basketball coach Johnny Jones was also in attendance, joined by athletic director Joe Alleva to talk Tiger hoops.
Studrawa praised the talent-rich northeast area of the state, making mention of the three state championships to come out of Ouachita Parish last season, while also commending the coaching staffs of Neville, West Monroe and Ouachita on what he called, "maintaining excellent football programs year after year."
