Graduation ceremonies Friday, Saturday
Caps and gowns will be the dress code for high school seniors this weekend, as two Franklin Parish schools host graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2008. The following is graduation information for Franklin Parish High School and Franklin Academy.
Franklin Parish High School
The commencement exercise for Franklin Parish High School graduating seniors will be held in Patriot Stadium on Friday, May 16 beginning at 7 p.m.
If the weather is bad, graduation will be at the school gym.
Derek Ray Newman is this year's valedictorian. He is the son of Ray and Cindy Newman. Maranda Kay Berry, daughter of Rick and Wanda Berry, is the class salutatorian.
Newman's speech in entitled "Seeking Our Fortunes" and Berry's will be "Holding Fast to Our Dreams.
Ryan Kyle Fulford, class president, will present the class gift at the ceremony.

Franklin Academy
The 39th commencement exercises for Franklin Academy will be Saturday, May 17 at 2 p.m. at River of Life Church.
This year there are three valedictorians, Shelby Kiper, Tiffany Rae Kroemeke and Adam Kirk Ogden will each present speeches to their classmates, families and guests.
Honor students for the Class of 2008 are Garrett Seth Gilmore, Jacob Aaron Jones, Katelyn Elaine Leonard, Christian Tyler Waller, Dana Michelle Westerburg, Courtney Beth Arnold, Darren Lee Collie, Justin Tyler Johns, Katie Virginia Kincaid, Brittney Marie Thornton, Alarie Claire Ward and Jake Ryan Wright. |
