Mangham ends regular play Mangham closed out their regular season with a convincing win over Choudrant by the score of 14-1 in Choudrant April 21. Alan Williams (13-2) got the win going two innings, with Todd Duchesne pitching two innings and Josh Wilson pitching the final inning. On the night, Mangham pitching gave up 5 hits and one run while striking out 7 batters.
Williams and Wilson led the Dragons at the plate with three hits each with Karl Wiggers, Tyler Everitt, and Jeb Bryan adding two hits apiece. Williams had a double and a home run, 5 RBI's and scored 4 runs. Wilson, Bryan and Wiggers each added a double in the 15 hit effort by Mangham.
Mangham finished the season with a .313 batting average and a 24-9 record for the season. Williams led the team with a .433 batting average. Williams had 45 hits, 6 home runs and 30 RBI's. Tyler Everitt hit .379 with 44 hits and 25 RBI's. Wilson hit .363 with 23 hits and 37 RBI's. Jeb Bryan hit .362 with 38 hits and added 27 RBI's.
Williams led the Dragons on the mound with 13 wins and only two losses and finished with a 1.16 ERA. Todd Duchesne had four wins and Wilson added 3 wins. On the year the Mangham staff finished with a 2.89 ERA and recorded 286 strikeouts in 206 innings. Williams struck out 162 batters in 78.2 innings of work.
Mangham received a #2 seed in the 1A playoffs and will open playoff action against West St. John on Thursday night. |
