The event is part of the Louisiana Supreme Court's Court Improvement Program.

McIntyre said while aimed at social workers and attorneys, the program is open to the public.

"It's really for anyone that would like to learn more about child welfare cases," McIntyre said. "Anyone interested is welcome to attend."

The day begins with registration at 8:30 a.m. and the program will be from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The cost is $20, which includes lunch.
