Mangham knocks out Cedar Creek On Wednesday, Mangham traveled to Cedar Creek of Ruston and earned a hard fought victory over the Cougars 5-3. Alan Williams (12-2) started the game and pitched seven innings to get the win. Williams gave up four hits, struck out 13 batters and walked just two as Mangham extended their season record to 23-9.
Thomas Gray paced the Dragons at the plate with two of Mangham's seven hits including a bases loaded double in the sixth to give the Dragon's a 5-3 lead. Trailing 3-0, Karl Wiggers drew a one out walk to start the inning and Tyler Everitt followed with a single to left.
Jeb Bryan then doubled to the left field corner scoring Wiggers and Josh Wilson drew a walk to load the bases. Todd Duchesne then singled sharply off the third baseman's glove to drive in Everitt, making the score 3-2.
After an out, Gray then drove a 2-0 pitch to the wall in right center field for a bases clearing double and a 5-3 lead. |
