Mangham wins district Mangham captured their third straight district 4-1A title by defeating Oak Grove in a five inning contest by the final score of 11-1 in Mangham on Thursday night.
Alan Williams started and pitched four ho-hit innings before Todd Duchesne pitched the fifth. Williams struck out nine Tigers and walked to on the way to his 11th victory of the season.
Mangham scored their first run in the bottom of the 1st inning when Jeb Bryan's single drove in Karl Wiggers who had reached on a single.
In the 2nd, a walk and five two out singles pushed across five runs giving the Dragons a 6-0 lead. Williams, Wiggers, Tyler Everitt, Bryan, and Josh Wilson each singled to give Mangham a lead that would hold up.
Mangham added five more runs in the third inning and pushed their lead to 11-0.
Jeb Bryan led the hitting attack for Mangham with three hits and four RBI's. Wiggers, Williams, and Wilson each added two hits for the Dragons who had 11 hits on the evening. |
