Cougars fall to Rams

Franklin Academy lost out on a chance to gain ground on District 6A East leader Wilkinson County Christian Academy as the Cougars fell to the Rams 8-1 Friday in Woodville.

Franklin managed only four hits off of WCCA pitcher Sutton Olive, the son of Ram coach Ray Olive.

The Cougars scored their only run in the fifth inning.

WCCA scored four runs in the first inning and added one in the third, two in the fourth and one in the sixth.

Brandon Simon had three hits for WCCA.

Franklin travels to Huntington Tuesday.
