Temple honored for library service Ms. Lucille Temple was honored at a special reception held at the Franklin Parish Library for her 32 years of service to the library. Library Director Emily Arnold presented Ms. Temple with a plaque in appreciation of her dedicated service to the library.
Ms. Temple began working for the library in 1975 as a part-time employee. In 2006, she honored wih the Franklin Parish Older Worker Award. Through her years at the library, Ms. Temple has worked undre all six directors who have served the Franklin Parish Library. ms. Temple, a native of Wisner, was mainly responsible for the ciruclation of library materials, shelving and calling people who had requested books. Patrons will always remember her sweet, gentle voice when she called to tell them a book was ready.
"Ms. Temple has left an everlasting impression on her co-workers, patrons and whole community. She has become an icon and role model for us all to strive to immulate," stated current director Emily Arnold. "Ms. Temple has witnessed many changes in library srvice throught the years and has accepted each change with grace, and courage to see it through and patience, which is typical of her." |
