Patriot tennis competes in Bolton Cup

There was only one match this week against another team for the Franklin Parish High School tennis team.
Taking on Forest on Tuesday, the Patriots then traveled to Monroe to take part in the Bolton Cup.
Against Forest, Erin Hoffpauir won her singles match, 6-0.
In doubles action, Hoffpauir and Lindsey Ward won 6-3, Kelsey Fletcher and Blake Oliver were defeated 8-6, Megan Reese and Krystal Cardoin were victorious 6-4, Payton Dement and Cornithia Blanson won 6-3, Kelsey Fletcher and Blake Oliver won their second doubles match 6-0 and Megan Reese and Lindsey Ward teamed up to win their second doubles match 6-0.
Erin Hoffpauir and Blake Oliver were also victorious in doubles action 6-0, Dement and Cardoin won 6-1 and Fletcher and Blanson finished out the dominating team effort with a 6-0 win over Forest.
On the boys side, Michael Young won his singles match by a 6-2 score and he teamed up with Corey Wright to win a match in doubles, 6-0.
Norman Elrod and Daniel Raoley also had no trouble in doubles as they won 6-0 and Andy Armstrong and Dylan Williams won their match by a 6-2 score.
Derek Newman and Clayton Ferrington won their doubles match by a 6-1 score.
In the Bolton Cup, Young and Wright lost in the second round in an epic three-set nail-biter against Ouachita Christian. Dylan Williams was defeated in the second round in singles action as well.
On the girl's side, Erin Hoffpauir and Lindsey Ward lost in the second round of action against West Monroe.
In the Consolation bracket, Kelsey Fletcher and Megan Reese made it to the finals of the bracket before falling to St. Fredrick's.
Elrod and Raoley were defeated in the second round against West Ouachita ina three-set classic again and in the consolation round singles bracket Blake Oliver lost in the second round. |
