Posted 2/26/08 Christine Parker Adams Christine Parker Adams, 84, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2008 in Portland, Oregon. She was born Dec. 27, 1924 to Mack and Willie Parker. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother Robert D. Parker Sr. and his wife, Joyce. Survivors include a son, Donald and his wife Teresa Cockerham of Winnsboro; a daughter, Willie Cockerham, Portland; sister, Billie Donnell and husband Joe, Winnsboro; niece, Betty O'Brian, Winnsboro; grandchildren, a number of great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Jessie J. Jackson Funeral services for Jessie J. Jackson, 94, of Winnsboro were held Saturday at Morning Pilgrim Baptist Church, Sicily Island, with the Rev. Amos Griffin officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery under the direction of Richardson Funeral Home, Winnsboro. Mrs. Jackson, a housewife, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2008 at Charlyn Nursing Home. She is survived by her brother, Zeke Moore, Winnsboro; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Pallbearers were C.L. Moore, Pete Moore, B.J. Moore, Lee Boley, Edward Moore, Robert Adams, and Daniel Brooks.
Bo Mullins Services for Bo Mullins, age 55 of Alexandria, will be at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday), Feb. 27, 2008 in the Chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Winnsboro, with Rev. Sam Parker officiating. Interment will follow in Ogden Cemetery in Liddieville, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mr. Mullins was a retired oil field worker and passed away on Monday, Feb. 25, 2008. Survivors include his wife: Sue Mullins of Alexandria; seven children: Hattie Mullins, Steve Edward Mullins II, Janie Renae' Mullins, all of Alexandria; Albert Earl "Bo" Mullins, Jr., Buffy Mullins Stevenson, and Charles Curtis Mullins, all of Pineville; Jody Glenn Mullins of Poland, La.; four sisters: Joyce Weems of Winnsboro; Minnie Mullins and Tammy Mullins, both of Alexandria; Edna Wise of Bunkie, La.; six brothers: Sonny Mullins of Mangham; Charles Mullins of Baskin; Johnny Wayne Mullins of Winnfield; Kenneth Mullins of Pineville; David Mullins of Tioga; and Robbie Mullins of Deville; and 17 grandchildren. Pallbearers will be: Malcolm McQueen, David Anthony Mullins, Robert Wise, Jr., Jeremy Mullins, Jerry Stanford Poland, and John Wayne Mullins, Jr. Visitation will be from 5 till 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008 at Mulhearn Funeral Home in Winnsboro. Clara Lee Loyd Services for Clara Lee Loyd, age 88, of Jigger, were held Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008 in the Chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro with Rev. Tim Ruck officiating. Mrs. Loyd was a retired nurse's aid having worked at Franklin Medical Center for 25 years and passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Survivors include her son: Thomas and Fay Loyd of Jigger; sisters: Irene Bollinger of Baton Rouge; Bernice Corley of Columbia; and Louise Swayze of Coushata, La.; granchildren: Angelia Roberts and husband, Shane, and Christy and Brady Jones; great-grandchildren: Anna Clara Roberts, and Madalynn Clair Jones. Kathy Jean Magee Funeral services for Kathy Jean Magee, 58, of Baskin were held Monday, Feb. 25, 2008 in the chapel of Gill First National Funeral Home in Winnsboro, with Rev. Kenneth Leach and Rev. Paul Perry officiating. Interment followed in Reagan Cemetery in Baskin. She was born to Frelson Odeal and Mary Christine Summerall Fife on Sept. 13, 1949 in Winnsboro and passed from this life Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008 at her residence in Baskin. Mrs. Magee was preceded in death by her parents, sister Beverly McDaniel, and husbands Joe Rogers and Sam Magee. She leaves behind one daughter and son-in-law Patty and Mark Ford; four grandchildren: Crissy Jackson and husband Justin, Trey Leach and wife Hannah, Kara Ford and Dustin Ford; and two great-grandchildren Addison Jackson and Brayden Leach all of Baskin. She is also survived by four brothers David Fife, Bobby Fife, Kevin Fife all of Baskin and Ricky Fife of Woolen Lake; a brother-in-law Walter McDaniel; a host of nieces, nephews and special friends. Pallbearers were Johnny Breckenridge, Bob Gibson, Bill Hales, Bodie Jackson, Earl Nethery, and Bobby McMurray.
