Story Archives: Despite big win, Norman not happy with Lady Patriots

Despite big win, Norman not happy with Lady Patriots

Her team won rather easily 54-38, but Lady Patriots Head Coach Kristie Norman was not that pleased with how her Franklin Parish squad played against an overmatch Sicily Island team this past Tuesday night.

"We really did need this win that we got on Tuesday night," Norman said. "We don't have a win in district play yet and our squad really did need to have a good game and beat a team before returning to district play. I think that it did really lift us up.

"Saying that I still told my team after the game to not get that too excited. Yes I was happy that we broke out to an early big lead and held a big advantage at the half, but we were suppose to be up on them (Sicily Island).

"We were expected to beat that team. Our style of play really didn't impress me even though we were able to come away with a victory. We played sloppy yet again and turned the ball over way too many times in addition to missing a lot of layups. We cannot do that this week and expect to be competitive in our district games that we have against much better competition," Norman said.

Jasmine Whitley did lead the Lady Patriots in scoring with 21 points and Jasmine Jones chipped in with 16 in the win for Franklin Parish.
