Larry Eubanks and Mr. Bobby Nelson officiating under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro. Rev. Payne was born February 9, 1941 in Franklin Parish, and passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008 at his residence in West Monroe. He was a pastor, and a member of the Cypress Baptist Church in West Monroe. He served our country in the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by his father, J. L. Payne and mother, Katherine Johana (Morse) Payne. Survivors include his wife, Jo (Ferris) Payne of West Monroe; daughter, Joann (Payne) Waggoner, West Monroe; one granddaughter; sister, Kaylynn Watson of Crowville. H. Bernard Cook Services for H. Bernard Cook age 70, of Winnsboro, were held Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008 in the Chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro with Rev. Cory Bruce officiating. Interment followed in Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mr. Cook was born on March 19, 1937 and passed away on Friday, Jan. 25, 2008. He was preceded in death by his parents: W. R. and Lela Cook; brother: Will Ray Cook; and sister: Sandra Cook Phillips. Burial followed at Philadelphia Cemetery in Crowville under the direction of Richardson Funeral Home, Winnsboro. Mr. Francis died Monday, Jan. 21, 2008 at St. Francis North. He was a farmer. A.D. 'Buddy' Harper III Funeral services for Mr. A. D. "Buddy" Harper III, 56, of Saint Joseph, LA were held at Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 25, 2008 with Jim Berry, Richard Norman, and Jack Grace officiating. Interment followed at Rayville Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro. Mr. Harper was born Oct. 12, 1951 in Rayville, and passed away Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe. He was a resident of Saint Joseph. He began working in the drywall business in 1972, became a general contractor, and was owner and operator of Harper's Drywall and J.E.S., Inc. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Buddy will be remembered always for his fun loving nature, his love of people, his sharp wit, and his unfailing generosity. He leaves behind a legacy of hardwork and entrepenureship along with an inspiring amount of stories that will be treasured always by those who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father-A. D. Harper, Jr.; daughter-Barbara Marie Harper. Mr. O'Briant was born on Dec. 18, 1945 in Rayville and passed away on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008. Mr. O'Briant was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved to work in his vegetable garden. He was a member of Rayville Church of Christ and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Clark O'Briant and brother, Donnie O'Briant. She fought a long and courageous battle with cancer. Alice Faye McKinnon Prickett Roberts Alice Faye McKinnon Prickett Roberts was born in Franklin Parish on June 25, 1938. A Winnsboro High School graduate, a liberal arts graduate and an Alcorn State University RN graduate. Alice Faye lived a full and rewarding life, ranging from her arts and crafts creativity to the corporate world of Proctor and Gamble where she found her other passion working with geriatics in an array of nursing homes as a registered nurse or Director of Nursing. She often spoke of her "little people", the name she gave her patients. These were more than patients, these were part of her extended family to whom she gave love openly and freely and tried to always leave them with a smile. She was a devoted mother and a doting grandmother and didn't even mind being a grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Dill and Alice McKinnon, her niece Monique LeBeaux Wilson, husbands Ray Prickett and Aubrey Roberts and grandson John Cassadaye Combest. She is survived by sister and brother-in-law Sylvia and Leo LeBeaux of Winnsboro; brother and sister-in-law John and Donna McKinnon of Las Vegas, Nevada; son and daughter-in-law Jay and Renea Prickett of Monroe; daughter Mary Alice Prickett of Fort Necessity; two granddaughters MegAnne and Camille, two grandsons, Josias and Blake; two great-grandchildren Trinton and Kaydence; two nieces, Yolanda and Erin, and one nephew Johnny and great-niece Dakota; loving companion, Warnie Batey and son Ted, as well as many friends near and far.
