Story Archives: Winnsboro flags fly at inauguration

Winnsboro flags fly at inauguration
by Katie Norwood - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
When Bobby Jindal realized he needed a display of flags for his inauguration ceremony in Baton Rouge on Monday, he knew exactly who to call. Mayor Jack Hammons received the request from a staff member and supplied the new governor with 200 American flags for the event.

"We were happy to loan Jindal the flags for his ceremony," said Hammons, "and I'd like to thank the VFW for allowing us to carry the flags to Baton Rouge because they are in charge of taking care of them."

Winnsboro city workers delivered the flags to Baton Rouge to decorate the grounds and pathway around the amphitheatre where the ceremony was held.
