Patriots fall short in district action

Franklin Parish dropped a pair of games to Neville Friday in Winnsboro in District 2-4A action.

Franklin Parish's boys fell to Neville, 62-55.

Neville led 20-16 after one period before the Patriots took a 35-34 lead at halftime.

Neville tied the game in the third period as both teams finished the quarter with 46 points.

Kendre Smith led Franklin Parish (15-8 and 0-2 in district) with 17 points, while Tremain Ellis added 15.

Artez Bynum had 30 points to lead Neville, while Kennan Gaskin recorded a double double with 17 points and 13 rebounds.

Neville's girls jumped ahead of Franklin Parish 30-13 in the opening period in cruising to a 73-46 win.

Jasmine Whitley and Jasmine Jones scored 22 points each.
