Mangham girls play in finals

Mangham's Lady Dragons advanced to the finals of the Oak Grove Tournament on January 5 before falling to host Oak Grove by six points.

Mangham advanced by defeating Lake Provi-dence on Friday.

"That was a very good win," said Mangham head coach LaNette Romero. "It was a good tournament for the girls. We needed good competition going into district."

Senior guard Desiree Hardman had 32 points in the tournament to eclipse her previous career high of 30.

"They played Desiree in a box-and-one, but she still got her points," Romero said. "She is quick as a cat and plays great defense."

Mangham's boys fell to Lake Providence in the first round of the tournament.

Mangham hosts Delhi Tuesday in its district opener.
