Carroll returned to FSA committee Results of the December election of FSA committee members for 2008 were recently announced by John E. Carroll, current Chairperson of the Farm Service Agency (FSA) Committee for Franklin Parish.
Farmer elected to the Committee in Franklin Parish was: John E. Carroll.
"FSA County Commit-tees are charged with the local administration of national farm programs which includes commodity price support loans and payments; conservation programs; incentive, indemnity and disaster payments for some commodities; and emergency programs," Carroll said.
An organizational meeting to elect the chairperson and vice-chairperson will be conducted at the first County Committee meeting in January 2008.
Carroll pointed out that last year over 928 farmers - about 25 percent of all farmers in the Parish took part in one or more of the programs administered by the FSA Committees.
