Voters who plan to cast ballots in the Feb. 9 presidential primary must be registered to vote by today, Wed. Jan. 9, to be eligible to cast their ballot.

Interested parties can register to vote in the party primary at the Franklin Parish Registrar of Voters office in the Franklin Parish Courthouse.

Early voting for the Feb. 9 election will be held beginning Jan. 26 and will close Feb. 2. To cast an early ballot, voters can visit the Franklin Parish registrar during normal business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., including Saturdays.

Individuals interested in casting mail-in absentee ballots can request a ballot from the web site of the Louisiana Secretary of State's office at www.sos.la.gov or by visiting the registrar's office.

Eligibility guidelines for mail-in ballots are also available at the registrar's office or on the secretary of state's web site.

For more information, contact Franklin Parish Voter Registrar Geneva Cupp at (318) 435-4489.
