Everett Lee Brown
Funeral services for Everett Lee Brown, 59, of Los Angeles, Calif., were held Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Wisner with the Rev. Amos Heckard officiating. Burial followed at Hope Estate Cemetery in Wisner under the direction of Richardson Funeral Home, Winnsboro.
Mr. Brown, a truck driver, died Dec. 25, 2007 at Franklin Medical Center in Winnsboro.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara A. Brown, Los Angeles, Calif.; sons: Percy L. Brown and Everett L. Brown Jr., both of Grand Rapids, Mich.; Felton Thomas Sr., Las Vegas, Nev.; his mother, Bessie M. Brown, Wisner; sisters: Nancy Heckard, Wisner; Lillian Smith, Hinesville, Ga.; Barbara Matthews, Columbus, Ga.; Mildred Herbert, Houston, Texas; Robyn Wilson, Monroe; brothers: Karl Brown, Marvin Brown, Fredrick Brown, all of Winnsboro; Raymond Brown, Lynwood, Calif.; Emile Brown, Fontana, Calif.; Donald Brown, Aaron Brown, Stanley Brown, all of Wisner; and 11 grandchildren.
Brothers and cousins served as pallbearers.

Evie MaGee-Daniel
Funeral services for Evie MaGee-Daniel, 82, of Sicily Island were held Monday at St. Paul Baptist Church. Burial followed at Pilgrim Cemetery in Sicily Island under the direction of Richardson Funeral Home, Winnsboro.
Mrs. Daniel, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2007 at Houston Hospice Hospital in Houston, Texas.
Survivors include sons: MacArthur Daniel, Ponchatcula, La.; Donnie Daniel, Flint, Mich.; Russell Daniel, Dayton, Texas; daughters: Henrean Simmons, New Orleans; Erma Green and Marsha Daniel, both of Las Vegas, Nev.; Linda Fortenberry, Spring, Texas; Eva Daniel, Sicily Island; Brenda Daniel, Flint, Mich.; Rhonda Daniel, Austell, Ga.; 37 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were MacArthur Daniel, Jason Daniel, Daniel Green, Donnie Daniel, Travis Daniel, Tracey Mackey.

Evelyn Ledet
Private graveside services for Evelyn Ledet, 74, of Winnsboro were held Tuesday at Providence Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home, Winnsboro.
Mrs. Ledet was born March 22, 1933 in Anniston, Ala., and passed away Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008 at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe. She was a resident of Winnsboro, a homemaker, and had resided at Plantation Manor Nursing Home longer than any other resident to date.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ledet; parents: Majory Bentley and Nellie (Browning) Bentley; two sons; Benny Parr and Russell Ledet.
Survivors include one daughter Anita (Ledet) Southern, Pell City, Ala.; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Cathedral Romell Loyd Sr.
Funeral services for Cathedral Romell Loyd Sr., 33, of Winnsboro were held Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Delhi, with the Rev. Dr. Tamarlon T. Carter officiating.
Burial followed at the church cemetery, under the direction of Funerals by McFarland.
Mr. Loyd was born April 3, 1974 and passed away Dec. 27, 2007, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe after a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his grandparents T.C. and Elizabeth Loyd; two sisters: Rose Mary and Felecia; and three uncles.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Ignot Loyd, Winnsboro; three children: Cathedral R. Loyd Jr., Lamell and Latrell Loyd, all of Winnsboro; two step-children: Ashley and Tony Ignot, both of Winnsboro; his mother, Mary Loyd, Delhi; one sister, Marie Williams, Aurora, Colo.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Honorary pallbearers were Ellis Loyd, Norman Williams, Robert Loyd, Curtis Loyd, Danny Jean Loyd and Albert K. Loyd.

Maria Parker
Funeral services for Maria Parker, 54, of Olla, La., were held at Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 4, 2008 with Rev. David McKeithen and Rev. Daryll Floyd officiating. Interment followed at Harris Cemetery under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro.
Mrs. Parker was born June 20, 1953 in Seoul, Korea and passed away Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008 at her residence in Olla. She was a homemaker, a wonderful mother, and owner of the Hide-Away Cafe' in Newellton, La.
She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Maria Susan Parker.
Survivors include her husband, Gary M. Parker of Olla; two sons: William Parker and Benjamin Parker both of Brandon, Miss.; daughter, Samantha Toney of Olla; seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Lloyd Peoples, Casey Emfinger, Dustin Emfinger, Christopher Jones, Ward Ellerbe, and Gerald Thornhill.
Honorary pallbearers were Eric Jester, Clay Emfinger, and Curt Fussell.

Patsy Joyce Bamburg
Funeral services for Patsy Joyce Bamburg, age 58, were held Friday, Jan. 4, 2008 at First Baptist Church in Pitkin, La. with Rev. Bryan Thurman officiating. Interment followed in Blue Branch Cemetery under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Mrs, Bamburg was born on March 28, 1949 in Ferriday, La. and passed away on Dec. 31, 2007 in Shreveport, La. She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Maudine Shores; husband, Roger Leroy Bamburg; father-in-law, France Bamburg; sisters-in-law, Wanda Sue Musselwhite, Mianne Smith, and Pat Whimpering; brothers-in-law, Calvin Bamburg, Virgil Bamburg, and Dennis Reeves.
Survivors include her daughter, Monica Deanne Bamburg of Newellton; son, Perry Rhodan Duke Bamburg of Houston, Texas; mother-in-law, Ruby Bamburg of Pitkin, La; sisters, Jewel Bamburg, Dianne Reeves, and Tomi Lou Jackson and husband, Chris all of Newellton; brother, Robert Shores and wife, Paula of Vicksburg, Miss.; sisters-in-law, Peggy Hawrylak, Elaine Stanley, Rowena Strother, Tomi Dean Powers, Mary Nolen, Toni Fern Twigg, and Angie Beard all of Louisiana; brothers-in-law, Bill Bamburg of Texas, Larry Bamburg, Rusty Bamburg, and Mark Clark all of Louisiana, and Dean Clark of New York; aunt, Vernie Smith, uncle, Rex Shores both of Louisiana; numerous nieces and nephews; dear childhood friends, Dot Sibley and Wanda Wilson; special friends, Billy and Linda Simmons of Houston, Texas, Anna Turner, and Dosha Lacy; and many other friends and co-workers.

Billy Joe LaBorde
Graveside services for Billy Joe LaBorde, 75, of Winnsboro, were held at Harris Cemetery on Thursday, January 3, 2008 with Rev. Ron Ferrington officiating under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro.
Mr. LaBorde was born Sept. 26, 1932 in the Lone Pine Community and passed away Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008 at Franklin Medical Center in Winnsboro. He was a resident of Winnsboro, a heavy equipment operator and served in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his father-Joe Hugh LaBorde; mother-Ina Mae (Harris) LaBorde.
Survivors include his daughter, Toni Reeves and husband Rickey, son, Douglas Buddy LaBorde and wife Shirley, all of Winnsboro; two sisters: Wilma McNaughton of Lacy, Ark., and Boo Robinson and husband Glen of Bastrop, La.; special friend, Bessie Crain of Crowville; two grandchildren: Becky Waller and Ricky Tator Reeves; and seven great-grandchildren.

Ella Mae Jordan Stokes
Funeral services for Ella Mae Jordan Stokes, 75, of Walker, La., will be at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, with Dr. Richard Blue officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. at Harris Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Seale Funeral Service, Inc., Denham Springs, La.
Mrs. Stokes passed away Monday, Jan. 7, at her home in Walker, La. She was a native of Mangham, La. She was also a member of Walker Baptist Church and the VFW Post #70717 Women's Auxillary.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Butch and Pat Stokes; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lois Whitehead and Jimmy Guillory and Trish and Roy O'Neal; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four sisters; and one brother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Leroy Stokes, Sr.; and parents, Wilburn and Daisy Boone Jordan.

Raymond Russell Jr.
Funeral services for Raymond Russell, Jr. age 45, of Jonesville, formerly of Winnsboro were held Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008 at the chapel of Gill First National Funeral Home in Winnsboro with Rev. Frances Guy, Rev. Marion Spence, and Rev. Hank Hamilton officiating. Interment followed at Providence Memorial Cemetery in Winnsboro.
Mr. Russell was born Feb. 21, 1962 in Jonesville to Raymond Russell, Sr. and Eloise Spence Donnell and passed from this life on January 3, 2008.
He was a truck driver for Anvil Enterprises and he was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Winnsboro. He was preceded in death by his father Raymond and his wife Ferbia Greene Russell.
Survivors include one son: Benjamin Russell and wife Casey of Winnsboro; his mother Eloise Donnell and her husband David of Winnsboro; two sisters: Myra R. Taylor and husband Duane of Winnsboro; Alicia Donnell of Baton Rouge; one brother: Mike Donnell and wife Susan of Richmond, Va.; two nieces: Lauren and Kelsey Taylor of Winnsboro; a special friend: Annie Belle Adams of Jonesville;

Ruby Eva Broussard Sonnier
Funeral services for Ruby Eva Broussard Sonnier, 89, of Abbeville were held Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008 at St. Theresa Catholic Church. She was laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery with Rev. Kenneth Mayne officiating the services.
Mrs. Sonnier died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Sonnier Sr.; parents Adam and Pauline LaPlace Broussard; brother, Jennings Broussard; and a sister Mabel B. Matassa.
She is survived by a son, Francis Sonnier Jr. of Abbeville; a daughter, Bonnie Sonnier Gill of Winnsboro; two brothers, Robert F. Broussard of Mouton Cove, and Irving S. Broussard of Abbeville; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Wallace Lorraine Clark
Funeral services for Wallace Lorraine Clark, 80, of Winnsboro, were held Friday, Jan. 4, 2008 at Gill Chapel with Rev. Alfred Garvin and Rev. Buford Brady officiating. Burial followed at the New Winnsboro Cemetery under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home in Winnsboro.
Mr. Wallace was born the union of his parents James and Alice Stroud Clark on Dec. 23, 1927 in Crowville, and passed from this life on Jan. 1, 2008 at the Franklin Medical Center. Mr. Wallace was a member of First Baptist Church of Winnsboro. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the VFW Post # 3155 in Winnsboro. He is preceded in death by his parents; a son: Tony David Clark; and one sister: Geraldine Garvin.
Mr. Clark is survived by his wife of 59 years: Jewell Ray Clark of Winnsboro; son: Larry Clark of Winnsboro, and his family, Matt and Gretchen Clark and children, Mary Elizabeth and Madeline; Brad and Jamie Clark and children Brandon and Avery; and Adam Clark; son: Randy Clark of Duluth, Ga., and his family Jamie Clark and son Christian, Justin Clark and daughters Kaitlyn Samanthia and Summer Alexis, and Meghan Clark; daughter: Susan Guimbellot and husband Todd of Winnsboro, and their children Mary Kate and Raeanna; four brothers: Bobby Clark and wife Jean of Baskin; Sherman Clark and wife Mitzi of Conroe, Texas; Charles Clark and wife Roslyn of Sebring, Fla.; and Wesley Clark and wife Sandy of West Monroe; one sister: Joyce Woodward of Winnsboro.

Adolph 'Red' White
A memorial service for Adolph "Red" White, 68, of Hot Springs Village, Ark. were held at Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008 with Rev. Billy Ray Jones officiating under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro.
Mr. White was born May 19, 1939 in Jonesville, La., and passed away Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008 at Franklin Medical Center. He was a resident of Hot Springs Village, Ark., an instrumentation and electrical technician with Melamine Chemicals Industrial (Mci) Inc. of Donaldsonville, La., and a member of the Baptist faith. He was also a member of the Central Arkansas Turners Club. Mr. White served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam conflict.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Allen White Sr.; mother, Rosella (Morace) Davis; stepfather, Lawrence Davis; stepmother, Neva LaPrairie White; three brothers: Richard A. White Jr., Tony White, and Albert White.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years: Barbara White, Hot Springs Village; two sons: Lance White, Baton Rouge; Patrick White, Sorrento, La.; brother, Jeffery White, Bossier City; five sisters: Gloria Traxler, Rayville; Judy Cruse, Houston, Texas; Mary Gonnillini, Natchez, Miss.; Joy Beattie, Madison, Miss.; Janice Bostic, Monterey, La.; two grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
