Fenn leads FA in district win The Franklin Academy Cougars bounced back from a rough start in district play to drop rival Claiborne Academy last week, 52-46.
The Cougars (16-4, 2-3) kept Claiborne off balance with what coach Paul Work called physical rebounding and sound defense.
FA forward Mason Fenn continued his all-state campaign, leading FA with 23 points to go along with his 11 rebounds. Curt McGuffee posted a scrappy 10 points and 8 boards, while Taylor Gilley added 11 rebounds.
Fenn has registered a double-double in all but two games this season.
"It was a great team effort," Work said. "They fought hard defensively and that gave us the edge we needed."
