Horse club wraps up second season The Franklin Parish Horse Club ended its second season on last month with a fun filled play-day and award ceremony for its members.
The club is dedicated to providing a safe, affordable and encouraging atmosphere for the youth in Franklin Parish and surrounding parishes.
The FPHC Flag Team and "Tumbleweeds" started the play-day with an entertaining routine, invocation and the anthem sung by our own Zadiee Robertson.
Barrel racing, pole bending, speed barrel, and goat tying were the main events at the play-days.
The season ended with each participant receiving a brand new breastcollar designed by Justin and Summer Carroll of J & S Tack.
The First Annual Sonny West Volunteer Awards were presented by Barbara West to Mary Ann and Ricky Bailey, Summer and Justin Carroll, and Denise Welch for their tireless dedication in planning and coordinating each playday. Shelley Davis also received a breastcollar and leatherbound pictured for her work with the club.
The FPHC wanted to thank Brian Wilson and Noble Ellington for providing their arena's for our play-days and all of our local business sponsors who supported our club.
Anyone interested in participating or volunteering next season please join us on Facebook by searching for "franklinparish horseclub". Participants must be 19 years of age or younger and lead-ins for beginners are welcomed. |
