Gators blank Tensas
Despite being without the services of duel-threat quarterback Randy Zeigler, the Delhi Charter Gators still poured on the points against Tensas on Friday, shutting out the Panthers, 40-0.
Delhi Charter (3-6, 1-2 in 3-1A) held Tensas to just 47 yards of total offense in the dominating district win. The Panthers only netted 40 yards on 28 carries, while completing one pass for seven yards. The Gator defense forced four Panther turnovers.
Gator quarterback Frank Maxwell filled in nicely for Zeigler, who was sidelined after suffering an injury against Franklin Parish the previous week. Maxwell connected on 3-of-9 passes for 25 yards and two scores. DeMarius Brass and Quinn Porter were the recipients of the two Gator touchdown strikes.
