Neville silences FP to clinch district, 28-0 Key injuries, a host of in-game mistakes and the talent of an opposing blue-chip quarterback proved to be too much for Franklin Parish on Friday, as top-ranked Neville shutout the Patriots, 28-0, at Patriot Stadium to clinch the District 2-4A crown.
Hamstrung by the absence of their top two offensive producers, the Patriots were limited to just 128 total yards of offense against the Tigers, a team that now now holds claim to four consecutive district titles. The Patriots entered the game averaging a mind-boggling 395 rushing yards per game.
Neville (9-0, 4-0 in 2-4A) finishes its second straight regular season undefeated, extending its overall winning streak to 23 games. The defending Class 4A champions are on bye this week.
"Defensively, I thought we hung in there at spots, but their quarterback (Diarse) made some big plays," Franklin Parish coach Barry Sebren said "It's easy to see why LSU wants him soo bad."
