School district off to good start
Even though much of the roof at the Franklin Parish Media Center was damaged by a recent storm, the school board has a lot to smile about at the start of the new school year.
Gov. Bobby Jindal's voucher program did not have the impact on the local school system that had districts across the state bracing for the worst. According to Superintendent Lanny Johnson, 40 vouchers were applied for in Franklin Parish and the majority of those were for kindergarteners at Family Community Christian School, who had also attended pre-school at FCCS.
