13th check discussion tabled until September
Several teachers and taxpayers attended the agenda meeting of the Franklin Parish School Board with concerns over the distribution of what is commonly referred to as the "13th check."
Funds for the extra payment are generated through a one-cent sales tax passed in April of 1969 in which 80 percent of the revenue is to be divided among classroom teachers and the remaining 20 percent is distributed among all other school employees.
