Rodeo days in Winnsboro will kick-off at 4 p.m. Thursday with grand marshall Sheriff Kevin Cobb leading the annual parade through downtown Winnsboro. This year's three-day event is held in memory of one of the parish's rodeo forefathers, the late Mr. Billy Duplissey.

A cowboy's cowboy, Duplissey may not have invented the rodeo, but in Franklin Parish, he invented the rodeo arena. Rather, it was he who made it happen.
