Rift between mayor, council continues The divide between the City Council and Mayor Jackie Johnson over the spending of municipal funds doesn't appear to be narrowing after nearly two months of budget talks.
In a special-called meeting Monday at the Jack Hammons Community Center, Johnson once again called for the Council to amend last year's exceeded general budget, and to approve the budget for the fiscal year ahead.
