Council left in dark, bucks budget
The Winnsboro City Council stonewalled Mayor Jackie Johnson's attempt to hurriedly push through the proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year on Monday, but that was just a footnote in what could only be described as a dysfunctional and unorganized monthly municipality meeting held at the Jack Hammons Community Center.
A lack of order and a city council kept in the dark on agenda items highlighted the near two-hour affair which accomplished the scheduling of "special meetings," rather than moving forward with pressing city items to be voted on by the council.
