Franklin Academy takes tennis title
While the MIAS South State regionals saw the Franklin Academy girls tennis team bring home the gold on May 2, the boy's squad captured a title of their own the following week – claiming an improbable state championship in Jackson.
With only three entries heading to the state tournament, the state title seemed far-fetched, but not impossible.
Britt Grieme, the Cougars No.1 singles player, started the ball rolling with a semi-finals win in three sets. No. 2 singles player Dakota Stephens followed with a semi-finals win of his own in two sets.
