Variety of bills on lawmakers' plates
Although six weeks still remain in the regular legislative session, state lawmakers have already seen more than 1,900 bills filed for consideration.
One of those bills could directly affect the driving habits of the millions of Louisiana residents that possess a personal driver's license.
Legislation that would ban the use of handheld cell phones while driving passed 9-7 in the House Transportation Committee last Monday.
