Fair to make comeback in Winnsboro Mayor Jackie Johnson said if there is one thing his office has taken more requests for since he became mayor, it has been to bring the fair back to Winnsboro. But not all of the city council members were in the carnival spirit at the regular monthly meeting, voting 3-1 on a motion to accept the mayor's proposal to have a five-day fair in Winnsboro.
Johnson said bringing the fair back would have a positive effect on the area, but concerns raised over the proposed location, timing and how to spend the revenue, topped the issues discussed at the council's regular meeting.
