Cougars still unbeaten in district play

Franklin Academy picked up a pair of key wins last week, defeating Claiborne Christian 15-2 before cruising past University Christian 15-4.
The Cougars remain undefeated (8-0) in district play.

"Things are really going well," said Franklin Academy coach Chris Sullivan. "We're getting good pitching and hitting the ball from top to bottom."

Against Claiborne Christian, FA's Jesse Vinson struck out 11 batters.
Franklin Academy scored two runs in the third inning as Nate Blackwell, Britt Griemi and Michael Moroni all singled.

In the fourth inning, Franklin Academy sent 12 batters to the plate, scoring seven runs. Brady Moroni walked, Ethan VIck doubled, Nate Blackwell singled, Griemi reached on an error, Kurt McGuffie and Michael Moroni singled, Taylor Gilley was hit by a pitch and Hunter Jones singled.
