Conservation reserve program sign-up begins
Louisiana producers are advised that USDA will conduct a four-week Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) general sign-up beginning March 12 and ending April 6, 2012.
During the sign-up period, farmers may offer eligible land for CRP's competitive general sign-up at their local FSA office. Currently 325,069 acres in Louisiana are enrolled in CRP with 37,959 of those acres expiring September 30, 2012.
