Patriots catch Spring fever

The month of March is often associated rebirth, as the colors of Spring burst through the soggy wintery grip to give new life to a new year. This year, the third month on the calendar and what it symbolizes has a double meaning for Franklin Parish's baseball squad. After a dreadful start to the season in February, the now molten-hot Patriots appear to have literally been reborn.

For the second consecutive weekend The Patriots (7-9) swept tournament play, picking up wins over Mangham, Patterson and LaSalle at the Caldwell/LaSalle Baseball Classic over the weekend.

After losing their first seven games of the season in February, the Patriots have now won seven out of their last nine games in March. Franklin Parish coach Lynn Middleton attributes his team's recent success to the unification of his 13-man roster and every player making an impact in their own way.
